Dear Extrasoncall,
I am writing a few sentences to let you know that I enjoyed my experience as an extra on the TV Show "Prison Break". The customer service team was very helpful and kind to me. It was a pleasurable experience to work as an extra, to see how a television show is shot and what is like behind the scenes.
Thanks very much.

Dear Extras On Call,
|
| "I first wanted to thank you and your service and for the wonderful response I have received in such a short period of time.
I signed on with Extras on Call in February, and by the end of March I was asked to be an extra for the ABC pilot “Laws of Chance” presented by Roundtable Productions.
I was involved in many key scenes, including the bar scene where they arrest the murderer, the funeral of a key character, a street scene and I drove through another street scene. I was front and center in the first two scenes mentioned and have no doubt that I will be prominently seen on TV this fall.
As this was my very first experience on a movie set, I will never forget the experience and the knowledge learned. From this I also gained wonderful contacts here in the Dallas area. In fact, I am meeting with a casting director here next week. I couldn’t be more thrilled about the possibilities!
Again, thank you for the opportunity. I have told everyone interested in the business about your web site and look forward to upcoming jobs in the future."

| Laura - Lewisville, TX
|
| "Thank you so much for helping me make contact with casting agent Andrew Silvestri for the upcomming movie in (2005) "War Of The Worlds." I was choosen to be an extra on the set Sunday 11/21/04 in Staten Island. I'm so thankful that I was part of a major production with a budget of 200 million dollars and Steven Spielberg directing.
Tom Cruise has the leading role in the movie. What a great experience this was for me and I met so many nice and interesting people on the set."

| Virginia - NY, NY
|
| "Thanks for your assistance in getting my website up and running again. I've been a member since 2002. Now, I have to tell you, the website does work! To date, I've done two independent films, one TV pilot with Disney/Touchstone and called twice by HBO's "The Wire"! The hottest show on TV!!
My latest project is trying to find a niteclub scene where I can use my singing skills. If you know me, then you know that I can make it happen!! Extrasoncall will give me the right connections. Thanks again Beau, I hope this letter will help someone make the right move to getting exposure!!"

| "This letter is to thank you for your service. I am always receiving emails from EXTRAS ON CALL that provide very good employment opportunities.
Well, I finally followed up with one and applied as an EXTRA for the new movie, “DERAILED”, with Clive Owen and Jennifer Aniston I was very interested in. Fortunately, I was very happy to be chosen as an EXTRA and completed the shoot Thanksgiving weekend.
There were several scenes I was a part of: 1) On the train surrounding Jennifer, then walking off the train behind her 2) Background to Clive in the Union Station vestibule. 3) Background while Jennifer and Clive were walking in Union Station.
4) Walking off the train with the crowd. It was a very exciting opportunity and it was very interesting to witness how such films are made. My past experience had only included being in, producing and editing many Local Cable Advertising commercials.
I am currently a Real Estate Broker and enjoy doing this work on a part-time basis. So, thanks again for providing me with such a great and honest service. I look forward to being a part of future assignments."

| Expect More from GD Productions!
This agency spotlight centers on GD Productions, a talent agency based in Pontiac, Michigan. GD is a full service agency representing over 600 faces in Michigan. GD opened its doors in April of 2000, and the agency specializes in supplying talent for promotional events.
We were lucky to catch a few pointers from the president herself, Genevieve Deittrick. Some topics discussed were modeling schools, audition appearance, and the future role of online modeling. These topics are familiar territory for most trying to make it big in the entertainment industry. On modeling schools, the opinions we heard echoed those of past interviews. According to Genevieve, these schools are great confidence builders. They are not necessary, however, and should be valued as a hobby more than a necessity. What’s more important is the personality of the individual, and personality is difficult to teach! This is important to remember as some schools charge a hefty price for their services.
"What about headshots?" This question has certainly surfaced in the minds if "fresh talent". We are finding that headshots and comp cards are beneficial to all in the industry. Most clientele prefers full-color composite cards with one picture on the front and four on the back. Headshots are not necessary, but are becoming more relevant as "clients are taking more of a hands on approach" with their investments.
The audition is something to be taken seriously, and there are some "do’s and don’ts" to keep in mind. One "don’t" involves attire. Don’t wear baggy clothes. An outfit should be form fitting. Black clothing is always a safe. For women, skirts are a plus. In many situations, Genevieve reminds us, "Your agent should prepare you with necessary details, one of which should be what you should wear."
Should actors/actresses relocate? That depends on the individual’s goals and current industry trends. It should be known that there are more acting opportunities in large cities (Los Angeles, New York, etc). Modeling opportunities have been abundant in New York, and currently Orlando is showing growth in that area. Conventions and trade shows take place throughout the country. Moving is not necessary, but for the ambitious fame seeker, moving to an area with opportunities will clearly increase your chances of success.
Something new talent should consider when looking for representation is the relationship desired with an agency. Getting lost in the crowd is not a preferred situation in this industry, and many talent agencies are willing to sacrifice integrity for an extra buck. For this reason, one should be cautious of talent agencies that charge a fee to sign with them. GD Productions has high expectations for its talent, and is honest in its interactions with clients. The individual has a face, not a number, and client-agency relationship is viewed as a partnership.
